Coach Doug

My name is Douglas Kwok. I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brasil. I was introduced to soccer at a very young age and fell in love with the game ever since. I love playing, watching and learning about the game.

Back in Brasil I played for my school team and a local club. I moved to the US during my sophomore year of high school and played 3 years for the Varsity team. After high school I never stopped playing and now I am currently playing at a local adult league here in Santa Clarita.

I joined Ignite FC because I believe in the club’s mission in putting the kids first and developing them on and off the field not just as athletes but as leaders and well-rounded individuals.  I want to help the kids develop a passion for the game like I did when I was younger and carry that with them for the rest of their lives.

I coached both of my sons when they were playing in a recreational league and I assisted with their club teams. My coaching philosophy is teaching players how to play in small spaces through what I learned in futsal and mastering the basic skills as the foundation of their soccer journey.

Coach Eric

My name is Eric Duarte, and soccer has been woven into my life for as long as I can remember. I started kicking a ball around with my dad at an early age, and from there the game became a constant in my childhood. I played AYSO from ages 8 to 11, making the same all-star team each year. We traveled all over Southern California, competed at a high level, and eventually turned our all-star group into a club team where I played until I was 16. I was even lucky enough to play alongside my dad in his adult league — some of my favorite memories.

Growing up, soccer wasn’t just a sport; it was my idea of fun. I was always outside kicking the ball against a wall, playing with neighborhood kids, or watching matches on TV with my dad. That passion naturally carried into fatherhood. I started “training” my eldest daughter, Ellie, when she was about three, setting up cones and even building her a PVC goal in our front yard so she could play anytime she wanted.

Today, my greatest joy is watching my kids grow — both as players and as people. Seeing Ellie train on Sundays, watching her development week after week, and supporting both of my kids as they find their own love for the game means more to me than anything else. My greatest accomplishments are my children, and my passion as a coach is helping them — and every player I work with — discover their potential.

Coach Will

I’m Will Ibarra, a Southern California native with a lifelong passion for soccer. I began playing at age five through the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and quickly advanced into competitive club soccer. Throughout my playing career, I competed at the highest flight levels and was selected for the Olympic Development Program (ODP), where I trained and competed alongside some of the top young players in the region.

Now 38 and living in Santa Clarita, I continue to play both recreational and competitive soccer in local leagues and through work. My deep love for the game led me into coaching, and I officially began my coaching journey in 2025.

One of my proudest accomplishments has been developing my daughter as a player since she was five years old. She now plays club soccer, and I have the privilege of coaching and mentoring her. Watching her growth on and off the field has only strengthened my passion for player development and leadership.

I’m committed to inspiring the next generation by creating a positive environment focused on technical growth, confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for the game. To me, soccer is far more than just a sport — it’s a lifelong passion that allows me to positively impact young athletes.
